They say that the angels have to trumpet the end of the world
There has to be a herald; something to tell us it's the end
Or we won't know.
Sound cannot travel in a vacuum and the Big Bang
Is a misnomer.
But there could be light, if we squinted hard enough.
Will it end in a bang?
Or will there be nothing more than a whispered sigh:
"I love you," Mother Nature said
But there was nobody left to reply.

Before time began, there was only black nothingness. Until life started with an indescribable, cataclysmic explosion of cosmic energy.
